Monthly Math Common Core Journal Activities

I use math journals in my classroom often. At times, we explain the common core standard we are working on that day. Sometimes we take notes or create examples for the topic we are exploring. My students enjoy being creative in their math journals so I thought it would be fun to create short CC review work incorporating the holidays. We started with an October activity last month. We had been working on rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 in the past week. This was a fun class activity we worked on together. I love doing these as they are short, simple, and a fun way to review or introduce new skills. Each monthly journal bundle includes 4 activities. This is just one example from the October set. I currently have October, November, December, and January for sale in my TpT Store for just $1.

You can download the activities here!

I used my document camera to show the students how to arrange their work as we went along. I printed the pages in gray-scale, so I gave the students a few minutes to add color to the pieces before we worked and glued them down. I colored mine while they colored theirs as they like to see my example, too! You can see some of their work as we did the lesson below.

Happy Teaching!
